Leave with a clear event plan and visitor checklist.

Before you start

Choose a real session idea and the audience you want to invite. Decide whether it is intended for the public, all members or a particular membership group before changing settings.

Use this guide as a practice companion. The recording captures the app and conversation as they were on September 2, 2026; historical announcements and screens may differ today.

Make one useful thing.

  1. State the session’s outcome

Write who the session is for, what you will demonstrate and what people can do afterward. Choose a realistic duration and one main activity.

  2. Write the invitation and access plan

Include the date, time zone, destination and any access requirement. Match the invitation with the audience you actually intend to admit.

  3. Test the member journey

Open the destination from the audience’s point of view. Check registration, joining instructions, the required account and where a person can ask for help. Keep a simple backup instruction for anyone who gets stuck.

Give it your context.

These practice prompts adapt the session’s ideas. Replace the bracketed text, review the response and make one specific revision.

Plan the live session

Help me plan a [duration] live session for [audience] about [task]. Give it one practical outcome, a short demonstration, a practice step and time for questions. Identify what I need to prepare.

Review the invitation

Review this event invitation [invitation]. Check the outcome, date, time zone, join link and access requirements. Return a clear revision and a visitor test checklist. Do not create an event or send invitations.

Finish with a next step.

Ideas to listen for

The event is part of the community. Ian demonstrates event visibility, registration and joining a live call from the community.

A useful demonstration is specific. The group discusses showing what a feature helps someone accomplish instead of relying on a broad feature list.

Get unstuck.

Should every event be public?

Choose the audience appropriate to the event. Test that the visibility and access settings match the invitation before sharing the link.

Can I rely on features described as in development?

Treat roadmap discussion as historical context. Confirm current availability in Help before planning a session around a feature.

For help in your community, open Help → Support Agent and describe the result you want and where you got stuck.

Keep going

Based on the 2026-09-02 Launch & Learn recording and session notes. The practice prompts are adapted exercises. Announcements, example tools and product screens in the recording reflect the time of the call.
