LAUNCH & LEARN · SEPTEMBER 30, 2026

From an AI chat to a community draft.

Connect your assistant, give it a small content task, and review a private draft in LaunchBox.

September 30, 2026 · Hosted by Ian McDonald
Self-paced practice: 20–30 minutes · Full replay below

Leave with one reviewed draft and a simple workflow you can repeat.

Before you start

Use the LaunchBox account that owns your community and choose a test community. Have Claude or ChatGPT available; use the current connection guides below for setup. If you cannot connect yet, complete the drafting exercise in your chat and review it there.

A practical companion to the original call. Follow the written steps at your own pace; you do not need to watch the whole replay first.

01 · REVISIT THE SESSION

Watch the original conversation.

Ideas to listen for

Make the workflow repeatable. The session explored moving from relevant research to a short script, recording, supporting visuals and review. Start with one useful piece of content before expanding the process.

Connect the assistant you already work with. The closing demonstration connected Claude to LaunchBox and explored community and help tools. The attempted post was not confirmed in the feed during the call; this exercise finishes with a private draft and a review link.

This is the original recording. Older screens, product announcements and example settings may differ from the app today. Use the written instructions for this exercise.

02 · FOLLOW ALONG

Work through one small task.

  1. Choose one audience and one useful point

Write down who the post is for, the question it answers and the response you hope to invite. Bring your own notes or a source you have checked. Ask the assistant to identify missing information before it writes.

For a first attempt, a short post inviting members to share one practical win is enough. Keep private member stories out of your brief.

  2. Connect and check the destination

Follow the current Claude or ChatGPT connection guide linked below. On LaunchBox’s approval screen, choose the community you own and read all requested permissions before approving.

Back in your assistant, run the connection-check prompt. Open the returned community link and compare it with your selection. A request for read-only work does not remove write permissions already granted. If the community or access is wrong, stop and review AI connections.

  3. Draft in the chat first

Use the content prompt below. Read the draft for accuracy, your voice and one clear next step. Ask for a revision when something sounds generic or relies on facts you have not supplied.

Keep the work in the chat until you are happy with it. A text draft in a conversation has not been saved to LaunchBox.

  4. Save one private draft and inspect it

When you are ready, use the private-draft prompt in your connected test community. It asks for a saved private post draft, not a published post or Library resource.

Open the returned LaunchBox review link. Check the destination, title, text and draft status. If the tool is unavailable or no review link comes back, leave the text in your chat; do not treat “done” as evidence that a draft was saved. Publishing is a separate decision after review.

03 · MAKE IT YOURS

Copy a prompt. Add your context.

Replace the bracketed text before using a prompt. Read the result and make one specific revision.

Connection check

Use LaunchBox to check which community you are connected to. Return its name and link, and explain the permissions available through this connection. Do not create, change, publish, schedule, or send anything.

Content brief

Help me draft one useful community post. Audience: [who it is for]. Question or need: [one problem]. My checked notes or source: [paste here]. My voice: [two or three traits and a short example]. Ask about any missing facts first. Then write no more than 150 words with one question members can answer. Keep it here in the chat for my review. Do not save, publish, schedule, or send anything.

Save a private draft

In the connected test community, save the exact post text I have approved above as one private post draft titled “Launch & Learn practice — Do not publish”. Use the private post draft tool and return its LaunchBox review link. If that tool or permission is unavailable, stop and explain. Do not publish, add a Library resource, schedule, or notify anyone.

04 · FINISH CHECKLIST

Know what you have completed.

These checkboxes are for this visit. Download the checklist or print the guide if you want to keep your notes.

Get unstuck.

Can a community member or admin use this connection?

The current community-management connector requires the account that owns the community. Member or admin access alone does not qualify. You can still complete the content brief without a connection.

Does connecting publish anything?

Approval grants the permissions listed on the consent screen. It does not itself publish a post. Posting permission may allow both private drafts and publishing, so review the requested access and state the action you want clearly.

The assistant says it saved the post. Where is it?

Ask for the private draft review link, then open it and inspect the actual result. If it cannot return a working link, keep your chat copy and investigate before retrying. Do not assume a published post exists.

For help inside your community, open Help → Support Agent and describe your goal and where you got stuck.

Based on the September 30 session transcript and original recording. The written exercise uses current connection and private-draft behavior checked October 14, 2026. Historical product news and roadmap ideas are not setup instructions.
