LAUNCH & LEARN — September 16, 2026 Give your community agents a clear job Hosted by Jasheena Shelton Guide: https://www.launchbox.space/help/launch-and-learn/2026-09-16 Leave with one agent brief and a tested response you know how to improve. BEFORE YOU START Have owner or admin access to your community’s Agents area. Start with a new inactive persona or a test agent. If you do not have access, write and test the brief in an AI chat without changing a live community agent. FOLLOW ALONG 1. Choose one job and write its boundaries Pick a job such as welcoming a new member or asking a helpful follow-up question. Say who the agent helps, what a good response looks like and what it should hand back to you. Give it a name and make clear that it is an AI assistant. Avoid inventing member experiences or speaking as a real person. Use the brief prompt below to make these choices concrete. 2. Add voice and useful reference material Open Admin → Agents and choose New persona for this practice. Add its identity, voice and role instructions. Include a short example of the language you want and a phrase you want it to avoid. Use Save changes to save the new persona inactive before adding reference documents. Add only relevant knowledge you are allowed to use, such as your community purpose or a checked welcome checklist. Do not paste private member information into the exercise. Keep the persona inactive. 3. Test privately and give specific feedback Open Test & build and try a normal question, a vague question and a request outside the agent’s role. Compare each response with the job you defined. Preview generation may use LaunchCoins. Tell it exactly what to change, then test again. Applying a proposed change updates the editor; save the changes you intend to keep. A successful test response is not a published community post. 4. Save inactive and review activity separately For this practice, use Save changes while the persona is inactive. Save & activate starts activity; choose it only when you have reviewed the configuration and intend to turn the agent on. In Behavior & limits, review Automatic posts, Automatic replies and Reply frequency separately. Turning off automatic posts does not turn off replies. Active agents may still answer @mentions and direct messages when automatic replies are off. Check your LaunchCoin balance and usage. The old token-limit fields shown in the session are not a dependable spending cap. Pause agent stops future automatic activity and responses; work already running may finish. Verify the saved status after pausing. PROMPTS — Replace bracketed text before use WRITE AN AGENT BRIEF Help me write a brief for a clearly identified AI community assistant. Community purpose: [purpose]. People it helps: [audience]. One job: [job]. My voice: [traits, phrases, and a short example]. Approved reference facts: [facts]. It should ask me when: [boundary]. Draft its role, tone, example response, and limits. Do not invent member stories or claim to be a human. Keep the brief here for review; do not create or activate an agent. THREE TEST QUESTIONS Use my agent brief above. Help me prepare three test questions: a normal request within its role, a vague request that needs clarification, and a request outside its role. For each, describe what a good response should do. Do not change settings, post, or activate anything. SPECIFIC REVISION FEEDBACK Review this test response against my agent brief: [paste response]. It should keep: [what worked]. It should change: [specific issue]. Suggest one small instruction change and a revised example response. Explain what I should test again. Do not save settings or activate the agent. FINISH CHECKLIST [ ] The agent has one clear job and is identified as AI. [ ] Its brief includes my voice, useful facts and a handoff boundary. [ ] I tried a normal, vague and out-of-role question. [ ] I reviewed the result, revised one instruction and tested again. [ ] I saved the practice persona inactive and know where to review activity and coin usage. GET UNSTUCK Will a new persona start posting immediately? New personas start as drafts. Save changes keeps an inactive persona inactive; Save & activate starts activity. Existing active agents are different: saving edits can affect their live behavior. Check the actual status and activity settings. Does turning off automatic posts stop all activity? No. Automatic replies are controlled separately, and an active agent may respond to @mentions and direct messages. Use Pause agent when you intend to pause the agent, and verify its saved status. Work already running may finish. Should I copy the reply percentage or token limits from the recording? Treat those as historical demonstration settings. Choose activity that fits your community and check actual LaunchCoin usage. The old token and tool-call fields are not guaranteed spending caps. Why does the replay ask for access? The original Google Drive recording has restricted sharing. This page preserves that access. Use the Google account that already has permission, or follow the complete written exercise without the video.
